If your joints have been aching for some time, you’ve likely turned to the supplement market in search of relief. Surely there must be something out there that can help ease your joint pain, right?
We’ve been working with supplements for a long time, and we know that the two most sought after supplements for joint health are glucosamine and chondroitin. In fact, they are frequently sold together.
But what exactly ARE glucosamine and chondroitin? Do they actually help? If so, how?
There are lots of questions on these two supplements, and we’re going to answer some of them today. More importantly, we’re also going to inform you on the importance of knowing HOW a supplement brand acquired it’s glucosamine and chondroitin.
We know that some people are averse to taking supplements that involve introducing their body to a foreign substance. No need to worry about that here. Glucosamine is a naturally-occurring chemical compound found in our bodies.
Glucosamine is incredibly important when it comes to the construction of cartilage. Cartilage is a durable tissue that sheaths and protects the ends of our bones at the synovial joints.
As we age our cartilage starts to fall apart. Despite being a resilient tissue, it does need to maintain a level of elasticity – after all, we need our joints to be flexible. Over time, the elasticity level drops and stiffness starts to set in.
It is believed that by taking glucosamine we can help decelerate these symptoms of aging – particularly through glucosamine sulfate, as the introduction of sulfur has been shown to help build and repair cartilage.
Like glucosamine, chondroitin also occurs naturally in the human body. Found in our tissue, it is formed from sugar chains and is believed to help our synovial joints maintain fluid resulting in greater flexibility.
There are a variety of different chondroitin supplements, all focused on easing our joint pain.
As our joints get older and start to stiffen, they become far more susceptible to breaks and fractures. One of the functions behind chondroitin is to restore the shock-absorption levels of your joints to prevent this from happening.
It can also be taken preventatively to block the enzymes that start to break down cartilage in the first place.
This all sounds great! So, what’s the catch?
When you’re looking at your chondroitin and glucosamine supplement bottles, there’s one specific word you need to watch out for: Isolates.
To isolate means: to cause (a person or place) to be or remain alone, or apart from others.
So when you see a compound that is an isolate, that means that it was originally part of a larger compound and was then broken down and extracted from that compound.
The problem with this is you don’t know how the original compound was broken down. It’s very possible that solvents were used – chemical substances foreign to your body. This means there is a possibility of ingesting trace chemicals when taking these isolates.
It also raises the question: How potent will these supplements be once they’ve been isolated?
Unfortunately, not very potent at all. The industry standard for the amount of time it takes a person to start feeling the positive effects of glucosamine and chondroitin isolates is 3 – 4 months… and that’s for those who actually end up feeling something! Many experience no change whatsoever.
For us, that’s simply unacceptable. Not only is 3 – 4 months far too long to wait just to see if a supplement is working for you, it’s also never worth risking the ingestion of chemical ingredients.
That’s why we use NEM.
A totally natural ingredient that already holds all of the supplemental value you need!
NEM stands for Natural Eggshell Membrane. If you’ve ever hard-boiled an egg, you’ll know exactly what we’re referring to. It’s the thin layer that exists between the white of your egg and the shell.
It’s an absolutely brilliant food-based ingredient – because NEM naturally contains both glucosamine and chondroitin! So there’s no need to break the compound down to extract them!
It also contains collagen, hyaluronic acid, and other essential proteins for joint health. This is especially important as it means that NEM works on the health of your entire joint – not just the cartilage relief that chondroitin and glucosamine provide.
There are no question marks over the effectiveness of NEM either – it has been clinically proven to work in as little as 4-10 days!
It’s time to relieve your joint pain. Live the life you deserve to be living. Click here to try NEM in our award-winning Joint Health Advanced today!
