The maitake and shiitake are both sourced from our main TCM partner in
China. The country of origin for chaga is Russia. The maitake and
shiitake are cultivated and the chaga is wildcrafted. We source these
mushrooms from China and Russia because they have been used in those
cultures for thousands of years. Not only do we want the material
itself, but we also want the knowledge of the generations of people
wildcrafting and cultivating these mushrooms. All of our raw materials
and our finished products are tested for elemental contaminants,
including heavy metals, hundreds of pesticide residues and other
contaminants. We do this to ensure that all of our raw materials –
regardless of country of origin – are safe to use.
