What is the difference between Calcium Mag +D and Bone Health Advanced?

Both formulas begin with a foundation of ESC (eggshell calcium). The differences come with the additional ingredients. Calcium Mag +D is a basic calcium, magnesium and vitamin D supplement and would be a good choice for adolescents and young women - up to women in their 30’s. Bone Health Advanced also contains magnesium and Vitamin D. In addition, it provides Vitamin K2 and boron. These two ingredients provide added benefits for calcium absorption and utilization. As we age, it can become more difficult for our bodies to put calcium where it belongs - in our bones. Bone Health Advanced would be ideal for women in their 40’s, post-menopausal women and women with a strong predisposition for osteoporosis.

Can I take all 4 capsules of Calcium Mag +D at once?

No. We do not recommend taking all 4 capsules of Calcium Mag +D at once. Using 1,000mg of calcium in one dose is too much for the body to absorb. Most of the 1,000mg would be excreted from the body. Calcium Mag +D should be taken as 2 capsules, twice a day, with meals.

I heard that eggshells contain calcium carbonate. Isn’t that a bad source of calcium?

It is true that the form of calcium in eggshells is calcium carbonate, but there is a significant difference between the calcium carbonate from eggshells and calcium carbonate mined from the ground.
