What kind of eggs are used to source the eggshell calcium (ESC)?

ESC is sustainably sourced from a renewable supply of U.S. -domestic eggshells. ESC goes through heavy metal testing and microbiological testing at the raw material supplier’s facility. When we receive the material at our manufacturer’s facility, it undergoes additional testing for hundreds of pesticide residues, industrial contaminants and elemental contaminants at an independent lab.

I heard that eggshells contain calcium carbonate. Isn’t that a bad source of calcium?

It is true that the form of calcium in eggshells is calcium carbonate, but there is a significant difference between the calcium carbonate from eggshells and calcium carbonate mined from the ground. The ultra-pure calcium from eggshells exists in a matrix. This matrix consists of trace minerals important to maintain bone health. These trace minerals contain boron, strontium, and phosphorus among others. More importantly, the matrix includes natural transport proteins that help calcium absorption in the body. This natural matrix of the eggshell results in a highly absorbable calcium. Calcium carbonate that is mined from the ground is completely devoid of these additional important nutrients.

What is the difference between Redd Remedies Calcium Mag +D and Bone Health Advanced?

Both formulas begin with a foundation of ESC (eggshell calcium). The differences come with the additional ingredients. Calcium Mag +D is a basic calcium, magnesium and vitamin D supplement and would be a good choice for adolescents and young women - up to women in their 30’s. Bone Health Advanced also contains magnesium and Vitamin D. In addition, it provides Vitamin K2 and boron. These two ingredients provide added benefits for calcium absorption and utilization. As we age, it can become more difficult for our bodies to put calcium where it belongs - in our bones. I am on blood thinners. Can I take Bone Health Advanced?

No, we do not recommend individuals on blood thinners to use Bone Health Advanced due to the Vitamin K2 content. For these individuals, Calcium Mag +D is more appropriate.

Best product for bone strength

This formula has helped build very strong bones. I'mm 74. I recently had an accident and injured one foot to the extent that I could not put any weight on it at all. There were some major bruises, but even though one foot was pretty banged up there were no broken ones.

I started using this product instead of the hard Calcium pills that seems to be pushed alot. I did start witht he hard pills but no improvement on my Bone Density scans.
